Conclusion Of Horror Trailers

Conclusion of horror trailers

After analysing different horror trailers, I had decided that with the resources provided to us, psychological thriller would be the most effective in the case of portraying typical conventions of horror movies. Certian conventions that I repeatidly whitnessed with camera angles was the effort in portraying the antagonist as dominant and the protagonist as weak. This was done through low and high angles. Another conventional shot was the close up shot. This was to emphasise the seriousness of the situation that the protagonist was in.
Intertitles in horror trailers mainly consist of as little writing as possible, due to the trailer and the movie are able to keep the suspense going and at the same time attract the viewers in more whilst the other Intertitles provide additional information based on the movie which is essential for the potential audience to know.
The pace of the trailer tends to be slow and calm at the beginning, however, as the plot unravels, the pace increases along with it, thus increasing tension and suspense which will excite the viewer and may persuade them to see the movie.
These trailers tend to have common music as background music, however, when placed into a horror situation, the music adapts and creates an effect that the audience will not feel comfortable with which is exactly the reaction that the film production companys want. However, not all trailers consist of music. Teaser trailers may not have music due to the teaser trailer mainly provides the public with necessary information and a small clip of what is to be expected. Lastly, lighting has a major impact of the outcome of the trailer due to it sets the mood and scenery of what the movie is going to be based on throughout.
