Viral Marketing

Viral marketing is a method used to draw in the attention of the audience. Viral marketing and various other modes such as viral advertising refer to market techniques that use methods such as social networks like “FACEBOOK” to increase popularity and reputation in the promotion. Viral marketing is the most conventionally used method and is mainly handled by the public therefore the attention of a trailer is spread through a high majority in a small amount of time through social networking, word of mouth, and any other sense of communication. Viral marketing also has modes of marketing through subliminally marketing the audience without them realising, and this is called stealth marketing. In conclusion, viral marketing is an effective method to popularise information and attract a wide range of audiences, this is because it is a cheap way as the company relies mainly on the audience to spread the information for example: a certain trailer such as “Despicable Me” where everyone received a clip of it on their phones, the internet where they forwarded to family and friends, spreading the information to a wider audience.
